Our Story
Following the launch of her father’s multi international award winning invention, the Weed Thrasher, her career changed direction and her writing and school teaching took a back seat. However, having always enjoyed line dancing, and it being an existing evening hobby, she decided to start her own club, namely, Flying High Line Dancers as it fitted in well with what she was doing during the day.
Realising the importance of being a qualified dance instructor she immediately enrolled for the BWDA line dance instructor course which she subsequently passed with distinction. Her mum and dad were her helpers for many years in the early days until sadly her dad’s health took a turn for the worse. The club has grown over the years and is continuing to do so. Lisa is now married and her husband, Kevin Stevens, is also an avid line dancer having danced for over 30 years. Kevin has a full day time job and he and Lisa now run Flying High Line Dancers as a team. Both have their Bronze, Silver and Gold BWDA line dancing medals.
The club continues to grow and has branched out in other areas and in addition to weekly classes now also offers corporate team building events, country and western themes parties, hen parties, wedding dances, school and care home bookings etc.
Lisa and Kevin moved from West Sussex to Norfolk in July 2018 where both have a lot of extended family and are looking forward to expanding Flying High Line Dancers in their new home county.
They have danced all over the UK and at dance clubs in Germany and South Africa as well as dancing at themed weekends.
When Lisa isn't dancing she is managing her online shop Lisa's Collectables. An online store selling a selection of designer handbags, clothing and accessories, antiques, collectables, retro, vintage, books and other unique items both new and old.
